Full SWRB CD comment from Dr. McMahon:

"I have been systematically working through reading the Puritan and Reformed CDs I purchased.

I must say, there is nothing like them available anywhere.

It is the most amazing collection of works I know of in one package to date.

In my opinion, it far surpasses Ages Software and their collections.*

The Puritan and Reformed material presented on these CDs is exceptional.

I am continually amazed at the depth and breadth of information in both collections, and the rarity of works that I now have at my fingertips.

You have done an immeasurable service for the Kingdom of Christ in making these CDs available, and every pastor and theologian should own them without question (they would be foolhardy to pass them by)."

* It is SWRB's opinion that Ages has done an excellent job in making various Reformed works available on CD, so much so that we also distribute a number of their CDs at discounts. Thus, please don't make more out of our publishing this comment than is warranted, as this is a comment we received from one of our customers and it expresses his opinion. As for Ages' work, we rejoice whenever the truth is published, whether through others or through SWRB (as we play only a very small part in the revival of classic Reformation, Puritan and Covenanter thought that is now taking place worldwide through God's marvelous grace). The publication of the best Reformers and Puritans of the past is one of the greatest needs of our time, as this extends the blessings that come through faithful preachers and authors into our day and into the future. Lord willing, the growth in the publishing of faithful works from the past will help stem the tide of the great declension and unfaithfulness which we are now witnessing all around us, even (sadly) among many churches that still call themselves "Presbyterian" and/or "Reformed." So please pray together with us that our Lord will multiple the number of faithful publishers and publications, and that He will give many the heart to stand for the truth no matter the consequences (as He has done for our faithful forefathers, who resisted Satan and sin unto blood and even to martyrdom in many cases). -- RB.

"SWRB's Puritan and Reformation CD libraries are an invaluable source for the study of the history and theology of classic Reformation theology. The collection is remarkable not only for depth of content, but also for the rarity of many of the works. Most seminary libraries will not have even a percentage of the works available on these CD-ROMs. I cannot imagine anyone working in Reformation / historical theology that would not want to use the Puritan and Reformed libraries!"

"I just received your CD collection. One bit of advice: you should instruct your customers to take about 1 week off just to peruse the tables of contents for these CD's, followed by another week off, in order to recover from the state of shock in which they will find themselves.

In all seriousness, this collection is almost impossible to describe. It has to be seen to be believed. As a pastor, my library has just increased dramatically. As a Ph.D. student in Puritan and Post-Reformation studies, I have immediate access to many of the same works for which I would normally need to access through rare book rooms of theological libraries.

Thank you for this labor of love. Thank you for making it accessible, both financially and technologically. May the Lord richly bless you for this service to his people."

- Yours for the faith,
Pastor David Owen Filson

"You all are doing a wonderful service by making all these materials so readily available. Having them on my hard drive is BETTER than having access to a rare book library with all of them in hand... I have found the CD set invaluable as a tool of scholarship. So once again I commend you brothers for making it available."

"It's been several weeks now since I received the CDs and have had some time to digest some of them. All I can say is, "WOW!" This is truly a library like no other, and has already paid great dividends not only in my own personal worship and study, but in my teaching as well. I first balked at the price, but after seeing the vastness of the material, I almost feel as though I'm robbing you!

I pray that the Lord will allow you to get these materials into the hands of as many ministers as possible."

Full SWRB CD comment from Dr. Moore:

This collection of 62 CDs is a truly astounding accomplishment. There is nothing like this available to the ordinary Christian on the whole face of the earth.

Now, for the first time ever, ordinary Christians can have direct and near effortless access to the very cream of Puritan and Reformed, as well as Covenanter, literature.

These books are often in fascinating first editions and many are electronically linked and indexed for the first time. The ordinary Christian may here dig into a simply staggering wealth of literature, from devotional and sermonic material to technical and scholarly works. Even in the days of the Long Reformation itself ordinary Christians didn't get to see this kind of library -- most couldn't read for a start, and even those who could, would never have been able to afford to buy even a hundredth part of the material on these CDs. Truly we are without excuse!

And the significance of this collection goes even beyond that. No longer do we have to wait for modern Reformed publishing houses to predict that a particular Reformation or Puritan book will be sufficiently popular to make it economical to reprint, or to deem it "safe" enough to be let loose on the modern evangelical church. Rather, we are now able to see for ourselves the whole range of the Puritan and Reformed publishing enterprise, including views that are usually suppressed by most modern devotees of "Puritan" piety!

Buy these CDs while you can, and find out for yourself what the First and Second Reformations were really all about! You'll be truly amazed, and, by God's grace, will grow from being an ordinary Christian to being an extraordinary one. What they used to say of the Puritan John Flavel's preaching, can be said of these CDs: they are "hissing hot"!

- Dr Jonathan D. Moore, Cambridge, UK.
(Scholar of 16th and 17th century Calvinistic literature.)

"This side of eternity I'll never be able to repay the favor you have done mankind by bringing these... CDs together.

The first week of reading I grew more as a Christian reading those rich, pure Gospel Commentators than I have in 18 years of Christian life. After reading some of the Puritan CDs I have to get the Reformation set if it kills me. A fire is burning within me. These... CDs are liable to start a revival fire unseen in any generation... the Gospel in its pure form is seen in these... CDs.

Sir, I cant say enough. What a treasure! I'll never be able to repay you this side of heaven, but when we get there I am sure you will see the rich fruits of your labor. God bless you for not being money hungry but wanting to see Christians grow in the Lord... I love you even though we have never met, you have helped me in my Christian walk tremendously with these... CDs.

I am not bragging on the flesh, I am just giving honor where honor is due. The Holy Ghost will take these CDs and light a fire unseen and unheard of. God bless you all at Still Waters."

"Thank you so very much for the CDs.

I am amazed at the quality and quantity of the literature...

I cannot imagine any other single thing being done by any man or group of men in the earth today that is of such extensive, present, and enduring value as this CD work is.

God be praised that he uses sickly and weak men to forward his kingdom, that the work may not be mistaken to be wrought by the might of men, but by his Spirit. His strength is perfected in weakness."

GAMBLE, DAVID

Dr. Dad: Random Thoughts on the Status of Fatherhood in Modern America
"Always a provocative writer," notes Rushdooney, "Gamble's study is to the point and should be read for instruction and growth in Biblical fatherhood" (Chalcedon Report, May, 1995, p. 33). Fathers and husbands, this book will change you and your family forever ó for the better! If you read only one book this year, please make it this one; your family will be eternally grateful. It is full of biblical encouragement and warnings calculated to make you into the faithful warrior-priest that God commands you to be. Poignant and perceptive, Dr. Gamble writes as the Puritans of days gone by, except in easily understandable English. He likens your position, as father and head of your household, to that of the minister in the church: who loves, nourishes, and protects those under his care (in 24 succinct chapters). Mothers and wives, if "Dr. Dad" doesn't get this book himself, I think it would be safe to say that you have a vested interest in picking up a copy for him. It makes an excellent gift, though you may be accused of "godly selfishness."

Psychobabble: The Failure of Modern Psychology and the Biblical Alternative

In chapter one, Dr. Ganz writes,

"My goal in this book is to help readers understand that the counseling concepts woven into psychoanalysis (and its secular psychotherapeutic offshoots) are inherently opposed to the Word of God. My approach will be to reveal the direct conflict between secular philosophies and Biblical principles and to strip back to its ugly roots the psychotherapy that the church has baptized and embraced. My hope is that the church will stop shuffling her hurting and broken members to the "experts" who lack the power and perspective of the Word of God, that pastors will instead seize the opportunities to teach, rebuke, correct, and train in righteousness a people fit for service to King Jesus."

"Dr. Ganz threads through all the sticky issues as he confronts the psychological demigods of the Christian integrationists' pantheon and exposes their feet of clay. For those who have wondered whether the integration of secular psychotherapy with the revelation of God in the Bible is possible--here is your answer."

-Dr. Jay Adams, professor, Westminster Theological Seminary

"Here is a solid Biblical approach to counseling from somebody who has seen it from both the psychological and Biblical sides. Anyone who does Biblical counseling should read this book."

-Dr. John F. MacArthur, Jr., pastor, author of Ashamed of the Gospel

"Why is it many evangelical preachers shout from the pulpit about God's power, but then shuffle their emotionally troubled members off to the closest therapist? Both church leaders and lay persons seem to believe that the psychological "experts" have the answers for the wounded hearts and souls of God's people. And when churches do offer counseling, it often is tinged with the secular psychology and psychotherapy that have infiltrated the church.

Psychobabble explains the dichotomy between secular and Biblical counseling and shows the danger of incorporating secular techniques into a Christian approach. This book will arm believers looking for Scriptural answers to the hurts of a broken world. As anti-Christian bias becomes increasingly pervasive in secular psychology, the church must look to the true source of all healing. This book will point the way." (Back cover).

Readers comments:

Excellent Book About Biblical Counseling

Ganz's book has shown me that pursuing a higher degree in the field in which I already have an undergraduate degree, namely psychology, would be futile. I always felt that the line between "Christian" psychology and secular psychology was very blurred; nevertheless, Ganz has confirmed my belief that God's Word is sufficient for such needs. Why run to the world for answers when we serve the Prince of Peace? There is so much in God's Word that confirms Ganz's position about Biblical counseling. I feel that his position on this subject is timely as many Christians have compromised with the world in this area. It is time for us to believe what God says in His Word. "Do not be anxious for anything..." (Phil. 4:6-7). (From Augusta, Georgia United States).

I've been on both sides of the fence concerning integration (Psychology and Christianity), and I've always believed that the two could coexist; however, I was wrong despite my sincerity. Psychobabble: The Failure of Modern Psychology and the Biblical Alternative opened my eyes. Richard Ganz shows his readers that Psychology and Christianity cannot be united. Throughout this book Ganz shares insights from his own personal journey, and encourages his readers to take a bold stance for Christ. This is a book that confronts modern psychotherapy with the Word of God. Within its pages we see Ganz cutting away the fluff of this "feel good" theology that has crept into our homes and churches; he reveals the "Psycho..." fields true motives. Armed with only the Bible he successfully confronts many of societies crutches (self-esteem, etc.). I would highly recommend this book for those who truly believe God's Word is sufficient for ever need. (From Wake Forest, North Carolina).

"Why are Christians turning to psychiatrists for counseling? What exactly is Christian counseling? Just how Christian should it be? Does secular psychology fit with the Bible? If you want to be challenged to realize that it is the job of the church to counsel its members, sit back and read. You can easily read this book in a few sittings and everything that you have been taught about counseling will be challenged. An excellent book on this topic. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book." (From Wake Forest, NC).

GANZ, RICHARD

Secret of Self Control
A longtime Christian counselor suggests a new, practical and powerful approach to biblical living and lasting change which embraces beliefs, thoughts, emotions, and actions, and which will help people overcome the "victim mentality" with the resources of God.

"No matter what I do, it's hopeless; I'll never change."

"I try to be a better person, but nothing is ever different for long. Eventually I'm back to my old ways and the old me."

"I can't change my past, and I can't change who I am, so there's no changing me."

If you've ever bought into these lies, take heart. God has provided a way to overcome unhealthy thoughts and behaviors, silence the victim within, and gain the self-control you seek. It's a matter of taking charge of your life -- His way.

In these pages a longtime Christian counselor and former clinical psychologist lays out the differences between a "God-changed" and a "self-changed" character, explains why anchoring yourself in God's Truth is so important, underlines the necessity of obedience, and suggests how the resources of God make a Spirit-filled, self-controlled life possible. This practical, powerful approach to victorious biblical living can truly help you change for good -- for God's glory.

"Ganz does a superb job of unwrapping and explaining the practical principles found in Scripture to help us gain the sort of self-control that is the fruit of a life surrendered to the Holy Spirit. Prepare yourself for a study that is at once challenging and uplifting." -- John MacArthur (Back cover).

GATAKER, THOMAS

The Christian Man's Care, A sermon on Matt 6:33, together with a short catechism for the simpler sort. 1624.

Thomas Gataker was a well-known seventeenth century English Puritan minister, and a member of the famous Westminster Assembly of Divines. There is a 19 page section on Gataker in Thomas Smith's book "Select Memoirs of the Lives, Labours, and Sufferings, of Those Pious and Learned English and Scottish Divines..." (http://www.swrb.com/catalog/S.htm). Smith writes that Gataker's "house was a private seminary, where both Englishmen and foreigners resorted, and lodged for the benefit of his instructions. His extensive learning and talents were admired by the great men of his time, both at home and abroad, with many of whom he held a regular correspondence" (p. 524). His writing was so respected that "The celebrated Hermanus Witsius collected and published, in one volume, the whole of Mr Gataker's critical works in the year 1689" (p. 526).

This soul-stirring message is a challenge for people to make spiritual affairs the highest priority in their lives. God will take care of all the needs of those who will put Him and His cause first in their lives. Serving and obeying the Lord should be foremost in the lives of all Christians. "Their first and principal care should be for the principal things, that is, for spiritual things, for God's Kingdom and His righteousness, for sanctification and true holiness. These are the things that most nearly concern them; and without which they can have no benefit of ought else. And these are the things that God would have them most to look after: As for other things, when we have so done, He would have us leave the care of them wholly to Him" (pp. 44-45).

"Again, spiritual things God would have to be esteemed as the principal, and to be set in the first place; and temporal things to be reckoned of as secondary matters, as things accessory unto them. Whereas worldly men generally take a direct contrary course. They set the cart, as we say, before the horse. They make Sarah tend on Hagar; the mistress wait on the hand-maid. They make the principal the accessory, and the accessory the principal. Take most pains in that, that God would have them to take least in; and take least pains in that, that God would have them to take most in. First God's Kingdom and His righteousness, saith Christ, and then riches or those other things, meat, drink, and apparel. But first riches, saith the World, moneys and means of maintenance, (for these must be had howsoever) and then religion and righteousness may a little, time enough, be looked after, when we are once furnished of the former" (p. 46).

Christ tells us to put His Kingdom first, and then the necessities of life will be supplied by God. It is because Christians ignore this fact that they put worldly concerns first in their lives. "For why do men neglect to look after God's Kingdom? Forsooth, because they must build their houses, they must feather their nests first: they must get something that may be a stay to them hereafter, that they may be able to defend the world withall. To remove therefore this rubbe, and to rid and ease men of this care, our Saviour here telleth them, that upon the due seeking of God's Kingdom and His righteousness, or the righteousness thereof, (for all commeth to one effect) all these things that men so much desire and look after, and take so much thought and care for, shall be by God Himself provided for them, supplied unto them, and cast in thereupon as an advantage thereunto" (p. 42).

This book provides powerful encouragement for Christians to put God and His Kingdom first in their lives. It also contains a brief and very basic catechism after the sermon.

GAUSSEN, L.
Theopneustia: The Plenary Inspiration of the Holy Scriptures (1854)

"Theopneustia," borrowed from Paul, carries with it the idea of divine or verbal inspiration and thus this book defends the Bible as God's inspired word (dealing with many evasions and objections to this foundational doctrine of Christianity). Gordon Clark once commented that this book contains examples of early presuppositional work. 365 pages.

GAVIN, ANTHONY
The Great Red Dragon; Or the Master-Key to Popery (1854)

Gavin was "formerly one of the Roman Catholic priests of Saragossa, Spain." This book was first published in 1724, and tells of Gavin's experiences in the late 1600s and early 1700s. In the preface Gavin notes that he feared for his life upon the publication of the book, as "the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus" (Rev. 17:6) continued to fill her ordained role in history, as a persecuting menace to the witnesses for God's truth. This book contains a detailed exhibition of the harlotries of Rome -- from a former insider -- as well as much information that is no longer readily available on the wickedness of the man of sin "Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God" (2 Thes. 2:4). 408 pages.

GAVIN, ANTHONY

A History of Popery (1848)
The title continues: "Giving a Full Account of All the Customs of the Priests and Friars, and the Rites and Ceremonies of the Papal Church. Also, An Account of the Inquisition at Goa and Macerata, Summary of the Roman Catholic Faith, the Preservative Against Popery, Together with a History of Papacy in the United States, to the Present Time." This book provides an antidote to all the major poisons of Popery to the author's day -- though the Romanists have since concocted additional deadly antichristian toxins with which to pollute to the church and contaminate history. Some of what is revealed by this former Priest, such as "the Pope's joy at the murder of Protestants," will no doubt shock the modern reader, but such knowledge is indispensable in the battle against this beast. Sections on the order of the Jesuits in the United States and contradictions in Trent (which binds Romanists to our day) will also supply ammunition to the reader, as we look forward to that blessed time announced by the heavenly voice, when "her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her" (Rev. 18:8). 427 pages.

THE GENEVA BIBLE: ANNOTATED NEW TESTAMENT (1602 EDITION)

This is the New Testament containing marginal notes which were heavily influenced by John Calvin, John Knox, and many other leaders of the Reformation. The Geneva Bible was the predominant English translation during the period in which the English and Scottish Reformations gained great impetus. Iain Murray, in his classic work on revival and the interpretation of prophecy, The Puritan Hope ($16.95), notes that, "... the two groups in England and Scotland developed along parallel lines, like two streams originating at one fountain. The fountain was not so much Geneva, as the Bible which the exiles newly translated and issued with many marginal notes... it was read in every Presbyterian and Puritan home in both realms" (p. 7). This time also saw the rise of the forces for covenanted Reformation against the corruption and abuses of prelacy and the royal factions. Darkness was dispelled as people read this Bible and saw for themselves that there is no authority above the Holy Scriptures. Although most people today have never heard of the Geneva Bible, it was so popular from 1560 to 1644 that it went through 140+ printings. The reason for its popularity among the faithful is obvious: the marginal notes promoted a full-orbed, nation-changing Protestantism! This 1602 New Testament edition contains no Psalter and thus parallels the original 1560 edition on this count -- though a Psalter was added by the English [London] printers to the 1599 Geneva Bible (listed below). This edition also includes four introductory essays.

GILPIN, RICHARD

Demonologia Sacra. Or, A Treatise of Satan's Temptations: In Three Parts (1677)

The First Part (175 pages)

Gilpin writes in great depth about the work of Satan in the world. His primary focus is on Satan's strategy and tactics for keeping people away from God and their spiritual duties. But he also deals with the reality of Satan and his demons, and the actual power that they have. For example, he notes that genuine witchcraft receives its power from Satan. "The real Effects done by the Power of Witchcraft, show it not to be Delusion: Such are the Transportation of Persons many miles from their Habitations, and leaving them there; their telling things done in remote Places; raising of Storms and Tempests, Vomiting of Pins, Needles, Stones, Cloth, Leather, and such like, and these some of them attested by sober and intelligent Persons who were Eye-witnesses (p. 32)."

Satan acts in less conspicuous ways to divert Christians away from spiritual things. When "he foresees our Advantages or Mercies, he bestirs himself to prevent or hinder us of them; if Ministers set themselves to study and preach Truths that are more piercing, weighty or necessary, they may observe more molestations, interruptions, or discouragements of all sorts, than when they less concern themselves with the business of the souls of men. He foresees what Sermons are provided, and often doth he upon such foresight endeavour to turn off those from hearing, that have most need, and are most likely to receive benefit by them (p. 56)."

Gilpin points out that Satan knows each person's weaknesses, and devises temptations for people that will be most difficult for them to resist (p. 72). Satan is able to influence other people, including friends and relatives, to encourage us to do things that will ultimately prove harmful to us spiritually (p. 74). He has many tactics to keep people away from spiritual light. Among them is the attempt "to draw on a hatred against the Light, by raising in the minds of Men a prejudice against the person that brings or offers it: if he that warns or reproves, express himself any thing warmly, or cuttingly against his brother's Sin, this the Devil presently makes use of; and those that are concerned think they have a just cause to stop their ears, and harden their necks, because they conceive, that anger, or ill-will, or some such base thing did dictate those (though just) rebukes (p. 113)."

The Second Part (246 pages)

This part covers two main themes: Satan's efforts at corrupting men's minds with errors, and his efforts to disturb the peace and comfort of Christians. Many different tactics are used by Satan in each instance. For example, Gilpin notes that "Men are soon persuaded to take that for Truth which they see will be advantageous to them (p. 264)." An example of his manner of disturbing Christians is over-scrupulousness. Gilpin refers to this as "scrupulosity of Conscience. Satan vexeth the Conscience and distracteth the Mind, by raising up needless groundless fears concerning a Man's Practice (p. 329)."

The Third Part (216 pages)

The final part consists of Gilpin's careful analysis of Satan's temptation of Christ in Matthew 4. Gilpin points out the various tactics used by Satan against Christ, and shows that these are the very tactics that Satan still uses today against Christians. One temptation he notes in particular is the temptation to doubt God's goodness due to unfavourable providences. When we encounter a bad situation in our lives, we are tempted to distrust God. If we fall into this temptation, instead of trusting the Lord to work things out, we can be led to try to remedy the situation by our own means (apart from God), and thereby easily fall into a sinful course.

"Satan is not discouraged easily, nor doth he always desist upon the first repulse, but frequently renews the assault, when he is strongly and resolutely resisted (p. 90)."

GILL, JOHN

The Cause of God and Truth
An exegetical work on the five points of Calvinism and reprobation. The Preface states that "this work was published at a time when the nation was greatly alarmed with the growth of Popery," and that rather than just "lopping off the branches of Popery, the axe should be laid to the root of the tree, Arminianism and Pelagianism, the very life and soul of Popery

GILLESPIE, GEORGE
Aaron's Rod Blossoming; or, the Divine Ordinance of Church Government Vindicated

The remainder of the title reads: "So as the Present Erastian Controversy Concerning the Distinction of Civil and Ecclesiastical Government, Excommunication and Suspension, is Fully Debated and Discussed, from the Holy Scriptures, for the Jewish and Christian Antiquities, from the Consent of Later Writers, from the True Nature and Rights of Magistracy, and from the Groundlessness of the Chief Objections made Against the Presbyterial Government, in Point of a Domineering Arbitrary Unlimited Power." In short, this book deals with the biblical view of the separation of church and state, and is especially pertinent concerning the modern political climate, in which the old Erastian tree of civil ecclesiastical interference is growing strong and spreading much poisonous fruit. As with just about everything else Gillespie wrote, this book has been widely recognized as THE classic in its field. Three major sections cover "Of the Jewish Church Government;" "Of Christian Church Government;" and "Of Excommunication from the Church, and of Suspension from the Lord's Table." Lachman, in his Preface writes, "It presents the classic Reformed point of view, one now little heard and perhaps less understood. Gillespie writes carefully and clearly, in many respects resembling the better known John Owen in the clarity and power of his reasoning." Bannerman states, "This famous treatise is unquestionably the most able, learned, systematic, and complete work on the Erastian controversy in existence. It deserves, and will repay, the most careful study" (The Church of Christ, vol. 2., p. 432). Beattie (Memorial Volume, p. xxxvi, 1879) called this book, "the ablest plea for Presbytery ever made."

An Assertion of the Government of the Church of Scotland in the Points of Ruling Elders, and of the Authority of Presbyteries and Synods (1846, reprinted from the 1641 edition)
Also found in volume one of the Presbyterian's Armoury this work is not included in Gillespie's Works. The first part deals with Ruling Elders and the second is written "Concerning the Assemblies of the Church of Scotland, and Authority Thereof." A postscript is appended in answer to a treatise, written in Gillespie's day, against Presbyterial government. "Incomparably the best account of the constitution of our national Church which has ever appeared," noted Principal Lee (cited in the Treasury of the Scottish Covenant, p. 302).

GILLESPIE, GEORGE
A Dispute Against the English Popish Ceremonies Obtruded on the Church of Scotland (1637, reprinted from the 1660 edition)

George Gillespie was one of the Scottish commissioners to the Westminster Assembly, the youngest member there, and undoubtedly one of the most influential. William Hetherington observes "The effect produced by this singularly able work may be conjectured from the fact that within a few months of its publication, a proclamation was issued by the Privy Council, at the instigation of the Bishops, commanding that all copies of the book that could be found be called in and burned by the hangman. Such was the only answer that all the learned Scottish Prelates could give to a treatise written by a youth who was only in his twenty-fifth year when it appeared" ("Memoir," from the Works of George Gillespie, p. xviii.). James Bannerman notes, "This was Gillespie's first work, and it may be truly said to have settled the controversy which called it forth, so far as argument was concerned. No answer to it was ever attempted by the Prelatic party; and no answer was possible. It displays singular acuteness, learning, and force of reasoning; and the thoroughness of the discussion is as remarkable as the power with which it is conducted" (The Church of Christ, vol. 2., p. 435). Possibly the best uninspired book ever written on biblical worship, an extensive and thorough masterpiece that leaves no stone unturned. For advanced study.

Dr. Steven Dilday
The Eschatology of George Gillespie: An Introductory Analysis and Evaluation

http://www.lulu.com/content/2165164

GILLESPIE, GEORGE
Ezekiel's Vision of Millennial Glory, Preparation for Coming Reformation and a Remedy for Backsliding and Lukewarmness (1644)

This sermon, read by elder Lyndon Dohms (1998), was originally preached to England's House of Commons "At Their Late Solemn Fast, Wednesday, March 27, 1644." It is taken from volume one of Gillespie's two volume Works ($24.98 P, $34.00 HP). It gives great insight into the covenanted unity, uniformity and worldwide Reformation sought by the majority of the Westminster Divines and the best of the civil leaders of Gillespie's day.

Gillespie searchingly deals with the individual, the church and the state, while painting a Scriptural picture of prophesied earthly victory (I
