About the Scripture References
Miller's sermons were originally published without full references for numerous citations. Additionally, Miller often resorted to paraphrase or mere allusions to scripture: a practice common in homiletical delivery. While verifying Miller's citations, the present editor also discovered some inaccurate citations which were most likely the result of printing errors.
The editor has endeavoured to identify all references accurately, and to correct typographical errors. It is left to the reader, however, to discern the various ways in which Miller utilizes scripture; the references do not indicate differences between verbatim citations, paraphrases, or mere allusions.
