In the history of the
church's sanctification I don't believe there has been a more valuable
extra-biblical resource and tool than the Puritan
Hard Drive.
It holds some of
the most priceless Reformed works of God-centered and Christ-glorifying truth
that were ever penned.
Most students,
ministers and scholars of the Bible would never personally acquire even half
the literal number of books on the Puritan
Hard Drive, much less the extreme caliber of its contents.
In God's providence

I received it (the Puritan
Hard Drive - ed.) yesterday and am blown away by it!
It is simple to set up and there
is a tremendous amount of material available that will last me for years as I
go through it all.
The search tools are,
by themselves, well worth the price of the drive. It makes finding authors, topics
and documents incredibly easy and fast. (The speed itself is amazing!) I also find the ability to copy
from any of the PDFs and paste into whatever .doc I happen to have open to be
extremely useful.
I'm also glad to see that there are audio sermons/teachings
(MP3s - ed.), as well as WMVs (videos - ed) from a variety of speakers and
preachers as this provides a well-rounded approach to my own theology.
I've downloaded the entire drive to one of my computers that
can handle it, and have it hooked up to a laptop.
This is a tremendous asset to my
library and a huge time-saver for my own learning, preaching, teaching and
counseling.

"What is the heresy of Rome, but the
addition of something to the perfect merits of Jesus Christ--the bringing in of
the works of the flesh, to assist in our justification? And what is the heresy
of Arminianism but the addition of something to the work of the Redeemer? Every
heresy, if brought to the touchstone, will discover itself here. I have my own
private opinion that there is no such thing as preaching Christ and Him
crucified, unless we preach what nowadays is called Calvinism. It is a nickname
to call it Calvinism; Calvinism is the gospel, and nothing else. I do not believe we
can preach the gospel, if we do not preach justification by faith, without
works; nor unless we preach the sovereignty of God in His dispensation of
grace; nor unless we exalt the electing, unchangeable, eternal, immutable,
conquering love of Jehovah; nor do I think we can preach the gospel, unless we
base it upon the special and particular redemption of His elect and chosen
people which Christ wrought out upon the cross; nor can I comprehend a gospel
which lets saints fall away after they are called, and suffers the children of
God to be burned in the fires of damnation after having once believed in Jesus.
Such a gospel I abhor (From the Spurgeon sermon A Defense of Calvinism).

we believe -- that Christ came into this world with the intention of saving
"a multitude which no man can number;" and we believe that as the
result of this, every person for whom He died must, beyond the shadow of a
doubt, be cleansed from sin, and stand, washed in blood, before the Father's
throne. We do not believe that Christ made any effectual atonement for those
who are for ever damned; we dare not think that the blood of Christ was ever
shed with the intention of saving those whom God foreknew never could be saved,
and some of whom were even in Hell when Christ, according to some men's
account, died to save them."

What you must
understand, is that you have, in one resource (the Puritan
Hard Drive - ed.), the vast wealth of God working through His chosen elect
for hundreds of years.
The Puritan Hard
Drive is a record of the true Church of God rising from the ashes of the Church
burned to nothing by the late 1400's in the flames of man's greed for money and
power, lust for position and license, and apathy -- in the spiritual murder of
the eternal souls of millions of the lost, who were galvanized in their error
by the Papal fairy tales of limbo/purgatory, indulgences, etc. The Reformation
was about the true Church being "born again" from the ashes of righteousness
which used to be, but had denigrated to a selfish and lustful perversion in the
pride of the Roman Catholic Church.
What we must
understand is that the Church is now in the same state as then. The new
"Catholic Church" is the drug store, self-fix-it mentality and
philosophy which has built an edifice of heresy, grounded in the long ago
heretically defined Arminianism. The attraction is evident and replete with
the selfish immediacy which pervades this society; a "Try God! He
works!" marketing religion has arisen out of the Arminian heresy -- to fit
right in with the culture of the quick fix, totally self-administered and open
to all.
This nation's
ignorance regarding the absolute sovereignty of God is a stumbling block of
society destroying magnitude. The Puritan Hard Drive (by God's grace ed.)
will instill the truth of the sovereignty, immutability, omnipotence,
omnipresence, omniscience of our God and weed out the Arminian error, which
states "Man is NOT totally depraved and WE can tell Jesus when He is
allowed to save us, because we have that much 'pure righteousness' so as to
identify and desire Him."
Arminianism is a VERY
dangerous untruth which leads to SELF as the STANDARD FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS! For
decades the elect have been kept in spiritual darkness for unnecessarily long
periods of time; the common grace promoted by truth disseminated, which
promotes a more ordered world even in the lives of the fallen, is lost to this
error as the fallen amongst the believers suppose they are saved, after telling
Jesus they will accept Him, unto license to indulge, just as the Roman
Catholic Church was in error and people all over Europe sinned with suspect
impunity, which they believed they had purchased via indulgences, from
"God's financial representative" (i.e., the Papal Antichrist - ed.)
here on earth.
The Puritan Hard
Drive is a tool God will use to cast light upon this perverted and pride filled
heresy which, because of the unfounded resistance against Reformation creeds
and confessions (Westminster, Heidelberg, Dort, etc.), took hold as ORTHODOX
DOCTRINE!
Satan is going to want
to harm your operation in any way he can... you walk with your colleagues as
warriors on the front line of a battle God has already won, but at the same
time, a battle He allows to continue for His Glory and our edification unto the
wisdom it will require to "judge the angels," as Paul disclosed. We
have a BIG responsibility as those who carry His Image... He will teach
those who He has destined to carry such as the Puritan Hard Drive more intense lessons
as they will carry more responsibility in the time to come.
I want to reveal this
resource to my compatriots in faith and try to add to your affiliate outlets...
that the result will be more of God's chosen reached by this gift from our
Father.

Compatibilism
(also known as soft determinism), is the
belief that God's predetermination and meticulous providence is
"compatible" with voluntary choice. In light of Scripture,
human choices are believed to be exercised voluntarily but the desires and
circumstances that bring about these choices about occur through divine
determinism (see Acts 2:23 & 4:27-28). It should be noted that this
position is no less deterministic than hard determinism - be clear that neither
soft nor hard determinism believes man has a free will. Our choices are only
our choices because they are voluntary, not coerced. We do not make choices
contrary to our desires or natures. Compatibilism is directly contrary to
libertarian free will.

From the Foreword: "By those
who dislike controversy, it is often alleged that Arminianism and Calvinism only differ in respect of the fact that while the
former chiefly stresses man's responsibility, the latter lays all the weight
upon Divine Sovereignty. This is not a correct presentation of the facts.
The Arminian does indeed stress man's responsibility to the exclusion of the
sovereignty of God, and this is a fruitful cause of more than one error. The
man, on the other hand, who stresses the sovereignty of God to the exclusion of man's responsibility is a
hyper-calvinist and is in error on this aspect of truth just as surely as the
Arminian. The true Calvinist lays stress on both doctrines as they are unfolded
in the inspired and infallible Word of God."

The Book Itself: "Arminianism
appears as the gospel of Christ, but in reality is 'another gospel.' It is a
heresy, deadly and soul-ruining, and all the more so because subtle, plausible,
and popular. "It is a scheme," in the words of Dr. Cunningham, the
renowned theologian, "for dividing or partitioning the salvation of
sinners between God and sinners themselves, instead of ascribing it as the
Bible does, to the sovereign grace of God, the perfect and all-sufficient work
of Christ, and the efficacious and omnipotent operation of the Holy Spirit.
Arminianism is
the very essence of Popery.
Christopher Ness of St. John's College, Cambridge, a Puritan divine, in his
treatise "An Antidote Against Arminianism (at http://www.swrb.com/catalog/N.htm)," recommended by the great Dr. John Owen (http://www.swrb.com/catalog/O.htm), writes, "As blessed Athanasius sighed out
in his day, 'The world is overrun with Arianism; so it is the sad sigh of our
present times, the Christian world is overrun, yea, overwhelmed with the flood
of Arminianism; which cometh as it were, out of the mouth of the serpent, that
he might cause the woman (the Church) to be carried away of the flood thereof.'
[Rev. 12.15.] He quotes Mr. Rous, Master of Eton College, as saying, 'Arminianism
is the spawn of Popery, which the
warmth of favour may easily turn into frogs of the bottomless pit,' and Dr.
Alexander Leighton who calls Arminianism 'the Pope's Benjamin, the last and
greatest monster of the man of sin: the elixir of Anti-Christianism; the
mystery of the mystery of iniquity; the Pope's cabinet; the very quintessence
of equivocation.'"
During the
Arminian regime of Archbishop Laud, the persecutor of the Puritans and the
Covenanters, zealous Arminians were promoted to the best bishoprics. A
famous letter written by a Jesuit
to the Rector of Brussels and endorsed by Laud himself was found in his study
at Lambeth. A copy of this letter was found among the papers of a society of
priests and Jesuits at Clerkenwell in 1627. The following is an extract: 'Now
we have planted the Sovereign Drug Arminianism which we hope will purge the Protestants from
their heresy; and it flourisheth and beareth fruit in due season. I am at this
time transported with joy to see how happily all instruments and means, as well
as great or smaller, cooperate with our purposes. But to return to the main
fabric: OUR FOUNDATION IS ARMINIANISM.'

In reference to
the Calvinistic doctrines -- the doctrines of free and sovereign grace held by
the Reformers in England, Toplady
observes, "Queen Mary and her Spanish husband well knew that Calvinism
is the very life and soul of the Reformation; and that Popery would never
flourish till the Calvinistic doctrines were eradicated." Her efforts to destroy by sword and fire
those who upheld the Truth earned for her the unenviable appellation of 'Bloody
Mary.' The charge on which many of them were burnt at the stake was that
they held to the doctrine of predestination and rejected the Arminian and
Popish doctrine of free-will."

1618-1619, Arminianism is indeed a heresy, a serious departure from the
historic faith of the Christian church... Since the teachings of Arminianism
are contrary to Scripture, they are manifestly false. They are serious
perversions of the gospel of Jesus Christ. There is only one gospel, not two.
Anyone who preaches any other gospel is preaching a false gospel and is
accursed. "But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel
unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we
said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you
than that ye have received, let him be accursed" (Gal. 1:8-9)... Is Arminianism
a damnable heresy? Yes. The false doctrines of conditional election, universal
atonement, partial depravity, resistible grace, and the possibility of a lapse
